Terms & Conditions

The Theatre House                      Terms and Conditions Jan 2024

All staff and assistants have an Enhanced Disclosure Certificate.

Our teachers have First Aid and Paediatric First Aid training.

The Theatre House has a Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy which can be viewed anytime.

The Theatre House has a Risk Assessment Policy which can be viewed anytime.

Classes are booked and paid for via the Class for Kids Portal.

The Theatre House requires a 4 week notice period to cancel a Direct Debit. Our monthly subscription payments are spread out over 12 months. If a parent chooses to cancel the subscription over the summer and then attempts to re-join to 'avoid' payments, their child will not be permitted to return to class as full payments have not been met.

If any child attends who has not paid – they will not be taught as this invalidates our Public Liability Insurance.

All Saturday students must purchase a Theatre House t-shirt (directly from us) and black split sole jazz shoes.

Participation in fundraising activities is a requirement to appear in Theatre House productions.

If your child cannot attend a class, please let us know as we plan a very concise rehearsal schedule every week.

Please ensure you are on time to collect your child.

Parents are not permitted to sit and watch classes. This is distracting and counter-productive to other children in the class.

PLEASE NOTE:

All students should be treated equally, and all prospective students given a week one observation class to assess their capability to participate. The Theatre House staff commit to giving their students a high quality artistic and professional experience of the performing arts using a wide range of teaching techniques. Some children and young people can have a spectrum of individual needs including SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disability) or more complex behaviours that our teachers may be able to integrate into a typical Theatre House class effectively.

However, it must also be recognised that such children and young people can be vulnerable and not all children will be able to cope with the various styles used in our best practice teaching methods. Parents should be clear that an initial observational class where the child is closely monitored during their first week with us works from both sides and it may not be possible to include individuals who, although enjoying the experience, are either disruptive to the learning of the main body of the group in which they are placed or who are not able to access learning or participate and engage in the learning activity. In such cases, this will be communicated to the parent/carer and if applicable, a refund for remaining classes will be issued.
